Menopause in the Workplace
Supporting employees through menopause is becoming a core part of workplace wellbeing, and from 2027 certain employers will have a legal duty to provide structured menopause support. Starlit People helps organisations get ahead of these requirements now, building confident, compassionate and compliant practices long before the legislation arrives. Menopause can be incredibly challenging, the list of symptoms is long, varied and often debilitating, and no two people experience it in the same way. Without proper understanding, it’s easy for colleagues or managers to misinterpret behaviours, make jokes, or unintentionally single someone out, causing embarrassment or distress. Many people struggle to recognise their own symptoms at first, let alone feel comfortable talking about them at work. Creating awareness and understanding across your organisation protects employees from being judged, minimised or made to feel uncomfortable, and ensures your workplace is safe, respectful and supportive for everyone going through menopause or perimenopause.
Menopause Champion
As a trained Menopause Champion, I help employers understand symptoms, workplace impacts, reasonable adjustments and legal responsibilities.
I can create clear, practical menopause policies, update your employee handbooks, and guide you through the steps needed to meet emerging compliance standards.
Managers receive tailored guidance on how to support their teams sensitively and professionally, and I can advise on how you can choose to train a dedicated Menopause Champion within your organisation to lead ongoing support.
The Online Menopause Centre Support and Training
Through my partnership with The Online Menopause Centre, all Starlit People clients also receive access to free 15 minute clinical support calls for any employee, or their family members, who needs personalised advice.
These sessions are delivered by qualified clinicians and offer confidential guidance on symptoms, treatment options and wellbeing.
This combination of workplace expertise and specialist clinical support ensures your organisation is not only compliant, but genuinely supportive, proactive and ready for the future.
Encouraging managers to train through OMC
The Online Menopause Centre also offers accessible online training for supervisors, managers, directors and senior leaders. I advise clients to make this part of their standard development pathway, because increasing awareness across management teams transforms how supported employees feel at work. Their courses help leaders understand symptoms, impacts, adjustments and communication approaches, giving them the confidence to respond compassionately and professionally. The more managers who are trained, the stronger and safer your culture becomes, and it ensures menopause support is not just a policy, but a lived practice.
Protecting experienced employees & preventing discrimination
Many of our most experienced employees, especially those in managerial or specialist roles, are now entering, or will soon enter, menopause or perimenopause. These individuals are often the backbone of a business, and it’s essential they feel comfortable, respected and understood at work. Without the right support, organisations risk losing highly skilled people simply because they felt embarrassed, dismissed or unable to ask for help. Menopause can also occur early due to medical conditions or treatments, and these employees must be protected from discrimination, stigma or being minimised by colleagues who are experiencing menopause naturally. A safe, informed culture ensures nobody is judged, excluded or bullied for their symptoms, and every employee, regardless of age or circumstance, is treated with dignity and fairness.
